From Annoying to Adorable

Neku's eyebrow twitched in surprise. How did it all happened anyway? They were just roaming around the castle and when he turned around, the prince shrunk to his miniature self. Poof. Just like that.

What's worse here is that the prince can't remember a thing about being a royal.

The orangette butler had to stop himself from cuddling the boy several times this morning! The boy is just so adorable with those huge purple eyes and round face...

When he got over his stupor, Neku went to find something Joshua could wear until he reverts back. Unfortunately or fortunately, the only thing Neku found in the boy's closet was an adorable gown that is heavily colored with girly pink, black laces and frills all over, maroon stockings and brown boots.

Little Joshua looks just like a life-sized doll.

"Oniichan!" The boy chirped, tugging the tail of the taller man's tailcoat.

"What is it little *hime?" He said as he crouched down to the boy's eye level. He figured out that the little prince likes to be called 'hime' despite its feminity. "Tell me anything.."

Josh stuck his thumb to his lips, "Josh is hungwy..."

The butler smiled, "Of course...What do you want to eat then?" then he caressed the little prince's cheek affectionately.

Joshua leaned into the touch comfortably and giggled, "Josh wants *fried potato sticks!"

"Alright! Is that all?"

"Uhum! Fried potato sticks!!" The boy chirped happily as he hugged the bulter around the neck, tightening his hold for better leverage.

Neku chuckled, having no choice but to carry the boy with him. He placed his arms under the boy's legs and hoisted him up with a little bounce to which the prince giggled joyfully. He, then, proceeded down the hall to the direction of the kitchen.

Somehow, Neku loves the current Josh more. This one's innocent and you would know that his affection is genuine like any other child possess.

Still, even if he's happy with this version, he felt....a lot more happier with the teenage prince. All of those annoying stunts and taunting remarks are just the prince's way of showing affection...He can't really explain it but he can feel the overflowing love whenever they banter back and forth. It's comfortable....NEVER disturbing.

And he's starting to miss that from this version he's carrying.

"Is Josh heavy?" Neku snapped out of his reverie when he heard the boy's question. He looked at him and smiled warmly, unconsciously pulling the boy tighter to his chest.

"Of course not, hime. Besides, a princess deserves to be carried like one..."

An adorable grin spread across the prince's face. He nuzzled his face against Neku's neck and whispered,

"Josh is happy to have a good prince charming then..."

Neku smiled. Yes. If there's one thing that didn't change in Joshua, it's his heartfelt words and gestures (even if some were too girly and contained many implications)...It never failed to make him smile that could last for a whole day.

"Thank you..."

Yes. Joshua's age doesn't matter for Neku anymore...He'll always be happy with any version presented to him. That's for sure.

*French Fries. Remember, we are dwelling in an aristocratic era! You can't expect monarchies of medieval era knowing about the modern term, right? :-)  xD

A\N: I originally thought of this as a cute comical fic however, I changed my mind and made it into fluff. XD Again, BTH is open with relationships. You can think of the character's relationships and actions as platonic and for some fangirls, you can think of it as it is. I honestly don't care. :-)  I hope I made Joshua cute here...

I got the original idea from a TWEWY doujinshi where Josh's frequency got so low it shrunk him into a little boy. X3 He's soo ADORABLE!!

Ehehe...Thank you for reading!
Please take heed, there's no concrete reason why Josh turned into a little boy. This is just plain fluff and what Neku's thoughts about his prince. :-)
